To change your life... you have to change your life.
I can't tell you how many diets I have tried (and failed) over the years. There was the "diet coke and snicker bar diet", the "cabbage soup diet" (blaaauuuhg), the "don't eat diet", Atkins, water pills, dexatrim.....and on and on and on. If I did loose weight it came right back.
I had to realize this, are you ready? DIETS DON'T WORK!! What I would do when I went on a diet is change what the diet said, then go back to what I use to do. To change your life....You have to change your life. I had realize that what I was putting in my body was what made me fat (obese). And me being overweight was making me tired and causing health problems.
So the first thing I had to do was change my choices and find a good eating plan to follow. Something to keep in mind are;
~raw is better
~lean grilled/baked meats
~nothing breaded or fried
~100 % whole grain (Check your labels)
~only one starch a day
~no white sugar or white flour
These are just a few. I will have a page just for this later.
And remember, If your going to indulge...you can but be smart about it. Just a little and Not very often. The more calories you put in the harder you have to work to get the fat off :) There are wonderful treats to have that are healthy for you that don't grow your butt. You have to think before you put that donut (or Oreo, Little Debbie, whatever) in your mouth....how many more sit-ups will I have to do to work this off? Is it worth it?
It's mind over matter. If you mind being fat and working harder to get it off, then it matters what you put in your mouth. Make it count and change your life. Don't weight another day!
God Bless, Kelli

Body vs. Car
Instead of using food for comfort, I had to see it as survival. Like goin' to the bathroom so your body doesn't explode or drinkin' water so you don't dehydrate. It's what your body has to have to take care of it. You don't let the gas run out of your car at the pump and you don' t over fill your motor with oil. That would be wasteful and it would ruin your engine. This is the mindset I got into; not to waste, overindulge, or make bad choices.
When I over ate it made my stomach bigger which made me more hungry which made me eat more and made me hungry more often. The cycle never stops. When you add bad choices to that you get bad results; low energy, weight gain, muscle loss, high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, etc.
Most of the bad choices I made, even when I thought I was eatin' healthy, was pre-packaged food. They are full of sodium which is a huge contributor to weight gain. Like a frozen "not so Healthy" dinner or a can of soup for a quick lunch or dinner. Gettin away from white flour and sugar had a huge impact on my health and weight loss.
I also looked at the food I was puttin' in my body. Not only was it bad for me it was bad for my family and it was not what God intended us to put in our bodies. Here it is...the light bulb moment. The more a food is processed the easier it is for your body to process into sugar. The less it is processed the harder your body has to work to process it and it turns to energy instead of sugar. It's so simple it's stupid, right?
Look, God gave us the land to live off not a box or a can to eat out of. All that fast food in the stores and restaurants are killing us. Ok, I'll get off my soap box now. :) God bless, Kelli

Steppin' out in Faith
I'm not really sure what I'm doin'. All I know is God has been urgin' me to do somethin', to tell my story somehow....To help one person would be such a Victory for Him. Do I blog, fb, tweet? I tell my story in a condensed version when someone asks but there is so much more to tell. So I said "Kelli, why not do them all?" Like I said, I don't know what I'm doin'...at all. And it's not easy puttin' your F.A.T. (Feelings, Aggrivations & Temptations) out for everyone to see.
I know that I could not have lost 1 pound, not alone 70lbs, without Gods help. And I would not have had the energy without the help of Spark, an Advocare product. As I lost more and more weight people kept askin' " Kelli, are you eatin'? What are you doin' to lose all that weight?" Well, of course I was eatin' I love food. I changed my life...what I ate, shopped for, how much I ate, what I kept in the house...EVERYTHING!!!. My whole thought process around food changed. It had to. I was eatin' myself to an early grave.
I thank God and Praise Him everyday for the changes He has made in my life. First He Saved me and the sin started melting away. God has spent many years moldin' me for this phase of my life. It took a year for 70lbs. to melt off my body and I look great. Most importantly I feel fantastic inside my body, heart & mind.
Thankyou Lord for all the blessings You have givn' me. I pray that if just one person sees this blog and can save their life then it's a Victory for You. Help me with the words to say and the time to say it. I love You and give You the Praise and Glory. Amen.
